In a market flooded with standard roasted or deep-fried salted nuts, Meatreats sought to build a brand centered on enhanced digestive bioavailability and superior nutrition. By activating nuts (soaking and slow low-temperature dehydration to neutralize phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors), the goal was to unlock maximum nutrient absorption while delivering a gourmet flavor experience.

Nut activation is inherently a time-intensive, multi-step process requiring meticulous temperature and moisture control to achieve consistent microbial safety, crisp texture, and nutritional bioavailability without scorching or lipid rancidity.

The subsequent engineering challenge involved bonding rich, complex flavour coatings to smooth nut surfaces without relying on conventional sticky sugar syrups, maltodextrin gums, or artificial binding agents. Upholding a clean label while maintaining intense crunch, seasoning adherence, and long-term storage stability required novel coating mechanics.
